Ever since my first overseas trip (to New Zealand), I have had the 'travel bug'. A collection of photographs taken during my trips locally and abroad are included on these pages. This is a work in progress and more albums will be added when available.
My trips abroad include a six-month hitchhiking trip to New Zealand, four trekking trips to the Nepal Himalayas, several trips through Europe by train and travels through Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Thailand is now my destination of choice and have travelled to that country many times during the last thirty years or so.
In 1987, I carried a can of West End which I intended to consume on top of Thorong La. However, I had to wait until reaching Kagbeni before celebrating.
My first trip to Bangkok was an overnight stop en route to Kathmandu in 1987. Have been coming back since to enjoy the food and cold Singha.
Purchased a three-month Eurail Pass in 1984 to visit most European countries. Much of the trip planning was done on the spot, using a Thomas Cook Timetable.
